woolly pockets...

...are soft-sided nests for growing plants. They love to hang on walls and bring life to any horizontal surface in your home. Because Pockets are modular, they look great on their own and in groups, indoors and out. This is great: Woolly Pockets are handmade in the U.S.A. from recycled plastic bottles.

licking the spoon...

...always made me feel better. (thanks mom for reminding me!). Struggling to figure out what paths I should take in my life right now.

russel & hazel...

bring your workspace to life (and organization) with russel & hazel's design-enhanced binders, paper, storage and accessories, featuring distinctive formats and colors. I just bought their mini-construct-it-yourself day planner and is absoutely in LOVE (wishing their prices were along the same lines as my budget). Visit their Minneapolis store off 44th & France.

stick out of the crowd with...

...anthro's necklace bibs. I have had my eye on these for a while now and is totally diggin' oversized jewelry.

vintage beer cans...

Lance Wilson created this created this great set of vintage beer cans and posted it on Flickr. He says that the cans are a "...portion of an extensive beer can collection (2000+ cans) containing cans from the past 70 years..."

I love the packaging and typeography + the quotes "the beer with the million dollar flavor." Catchy! Reminds me of one my favorite local stores Mojo & Moxy.

stella mcCartney for adidas...

All this past week, I had the opportunity to cart around and keenly watch my two little neighbors golf their hearts out at their tournaments and lessons. Golf always facinated me.... it seemed so boring and easy. It never appealed to me until I took a shot at it in the driving range and attempted to hit a whole bucket of balls, with few actually flying high. Possibly golf isn't for me.... but I sure wouldn't mind waltzing around the club in Stella McCartney's golf Collection looking as cute and irresistable as can be! (psst... my arms are still sore from those "stiff" swings).

newstalgia...

Last spring, I designed, patterned, constructed, photographed, and watched my senior design collection "Rittenhouse" strut down the runway. It was a whole mix of emotions... thrilling, exhausting, satisfying, overwhelming... and plenty more. It was one of those "did-I-really-just-lock-myself-into-my-room-for-my-entire-last-semester-but-it-was-totally-worth-it" moments when I was called to the stage to collect awards for my work. It was worth it because I couldn't have been any more proud.

Here's the description:
The Pre-Fall Collection weaves an inventive story of nostalgia, femininity and capriciousness. Opposites attract. Color palate draws on the paradox of darkest coal and delicate cream washes, jolted with synthetic mustard. Alluring hemlines, high-waisted zippered belting, all cultivated from tailored menswear accents. Soft, yet durable Corduroy, delicate Pointe D’Esprit and sophisticated Silk Matka make unexpected fabric and ornamentation details. This collection is a gentle, delicate interruption into the world of a modern woman.

**my girlfriends were my models... neither of them had ever modeled before...and you can't even tell.
PS there are plenty more pics than what is shown

First Posting

I have been thinking about starting up a blog a lot lately. So I did it today, rather than just thinking about it all the time... so here it goes...hopefully I can stay committed. This will free my mind and give me a place to document all of these inspiring findings I come across day to day. Enjoy... as will I! Let's start from the beginning.....

{What} will this blog be about: inspiring finds, daily reads, great design, beautiful images
{Why} has this been started: I love to write + I have a passion for creative art + I love to share what I find

I got the name "sixty 5 twenty" from the address of my childhood home and my current address. Well, yes, I have a confession... I am still living in the house I grew up in... with mom and dad. This is the place that I was raised in, and came to be who I am (that is... a 23 yr-old college grad, finding the right path to adventure down). Picture: my nana + grandma linda + I... 1987...
