poppy love!
inspired by the poem in flanders fields Monia Michael replied with her own poem ever-popularizing sporting the red poppy on memorial day. the idea was then conceived to wear poppies in honor of those services men and women who have died while serving the nation during war
we cherish too, the Poppy red
that grows on fields where valor led.
it seems to signal to the skies
that blood of heroes never dies.

trend alert : WATER

fluid, profound, deep, wild, majestic, cascading, rapid. already seeing and feeling this trend trickling onto the shelves and hangers of our most near and dear brands, this next season of fashion will bring us an overwhelming glimpse into the world that the details of water behold. currents, waves, rapids, and rivulets are reflected in folds, drapes, smocking and gathers. froth and foam are conceptualized with textured jerseys and undulating yarns. the stillness of the lake will ripple softly with crepe and textured slubs. waves are rendered with micro-pleats and folds while cascading waterfalls are transferred into frills and ruffles. wild currents of the ocean are conceptual asymmetrical shapes. neutral, soft, smooth sand paired with deep, rich, dark and profound blues round out the palate and complete the subliminal water-like messages.

stripe obsession
stripes are completely over-used and everywhere. still, i can't help my love + hate relationship with them. i love the whimsical effect they have on a drabby wardrobe but hate that they are noted & seen as a "trend". please PLEASE can stripes be considered a staple? pretty please?
